Documentary Photography: 2 years, 4 months agoHello photographers. I am thinking about our exhibit. I have two ideas. While I know we are thinking about each having our own display, I am thinking about organizing the exhibit by themes and we can all contribute. There are some consistent ideas I saw across gardens: rubble, reuse of tires, beds-raised beds, retaking the land/fighting back the…[Read more]

Documentary Photography: 2 years, 8 months agoRubble and the Revival of Lost Lots
Rubble. It seems to be a common characteristic of Reimagining sites.
Wherever you go there are piles of rocks intermingled with the man-made rubble: bricks left over from streets or foundations, concrete blocks, remnants of limestone or concrete sidewalks and driveways, pipes, and conglomerate collections of…[Read more] -

Power and Precision Join Forces to Clean Up the EcoVillage Fence Line
by Susie Kaeser, PhotographerThe words backhoe and delicate are rarely uttered in the same breath; but that is exactly the way you’d have to describe the way Dave and his son Dave used their backhoe to deftly remove the irritating, and stubborn old fence and…[Read more]

This is Awesome!!! You painted the picture perfectly. I know all these folks very well and I can just see this scene playing out exactly how you told the story. Dave and his son amaze me! They are so helpful in their community. On any given day you can find dave with his tools out helping a neighbor or see him convincing a demo crew to donate the…[Read more]

Documentary Photography: 2 years, 10 months ago@helenliggett and photographers, I think it would be great, if anyone is interested, to make new headers for each group blog. Following the same general look and feel as the current homepage header (3-4 images aligned horizontally, 1012 x 250 px in size), but with images that specifically match the topic at hand. For example, the Orchards blog…[Read more]

Documentary Photography: 3 years agoPhotos from Central Roots site this Saturday. Too bad it was not sunny! Yet, could make a nice comparison as the project progresses!
Had to post the photos on Picasa, because my Flikr limit for the month was full!

Dear Megh
Thank you. There are sunny days to be at Central Roots — and their trash is gone. I went by last weekend and documented some of that. We are going to have a good history of this project. Hope you can make the meeting tomorrow. Best,
Helen

Documentary Photography: 3 years, 1 month agoThe album on this website seems to only allow you to upload one photo at a time. Am I correct? It would be much easier if I use my Flikr account, then only upload my very favorites to this site. Anyone else have a better suggestion?

The “put everything on Flickr” idea seems good to me. To add things to the “Reimagining Cleveland” Flickr group, just hit “send to group” when you have an image or group of images open. You have to geotag it first (use “add to my map” on the right side of the screen). then, as we go, we can put the best of everyone’s Flickr images on the…[Read more]

Dear Megan,
Good point. No. Greg is also using Flickr. Greta and Susan are also using Picasa. I am half way between all and hope to post more soon.
I looked at you your images and am so glad you are on this project.
The project directors are supposed to meet soon and I hope to have news re: exhibit.
Also would like to set up a meeting for…[Read more]-
Thanks Helen!
I am so happy to be part of this project! I will be going to a site on E 59th and Thackery tomorrow to take some pictures. I have marked in my calender a tentative date of a meeting Tues 27th, which must have been suggested at our last meeting. Let me know when the date/time is official and I will be there!
